Perfectmounts frequently asked questions about projector mounts, plasma mounts and custom face plates.
Q. What is the distance from the ceiling plate to the projector plate?
A. For the 1000 series projector mount, the 2000 series projector mount, the Infinity projector mount and the Everest projector mount, the distance from the ceiling plate to the projector plate is between 3.75 and 4 inches depending upon your projector.
Q. Why is it important to use a projector mount that is made of aluminum?
A. As you may well know, aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat. This is why automobile radiators and heat syncs for electronic equipment are made of aluminum. The heat is transferred very quickly and efficiently away from the item to be protected. Steel on the other hand is a poor conductor of heat and actually holds heat. This is why wood stoves and fireplaces are made of steel. The heat is held for a long period of time. Why does this matter? Your projector is a very delicate piece of equipment. The internal components are very heat sensitive and excessive heat will reduce their life. The lamp of your projector is especially sensitive to excessive heat and the life of your lamp can be dramatically reduced if exposed to excessive heat. This is why there are so many fans and cooling vents built into your projector. As you may also be aware, projector repairs and replacement lamps are VERY expensive.
Perfectmounts work like a heat sentry for your projector. They draw the heat away from your projector and lamp and keep them cool. The aluminum quickly dissipates the heat into the ambient air and away from your equipment.
We have calculated that the use of an aluminum mount can save you more than 35% in repair and lamp replacement costs!
Q. Does aluminum corrode?
A. Surpisingly the answer to this question is YES! While you may hear that aluminum does not corrode, this is untrue. If not treated properly, aluminum will corrode. Perfectmounts uses a 3 step finishing process that prepares and seal the aluminum so that it will not corrode. Beware of mounts that are bare metal or are not finished in a powder coat or annodized.
Q. How does your false ceiling adapter work?
